Engagement

April 4th was Mike's birthday! We had celebrated the day before by going to Burlington to pick out his birthday gift. On his birthday, I was not feeling very well so when he had to go to his last basketball game of the season, I chose to stay home, do some homework and wait for him. When he got home we decided we would take a romantic bath for his birthday, although we do that often! He got out and told me I could stay in as long as I wanted. He brought me in a glass of red wine and a snack and I got comfortable. About 20 minutes later he told yelled to me "hun, come here..." so I got out of the bath and into some clothes and opened the bathroom door... that is when I saw complete darkness except for the illumination by about 100 candles, making a path covered in rose petals and long stem red roses that led me into our bedroom. When I got into the bedroom, there was a large heart outlined in candles and covered with rose petals. Mike stood there in all black with a single red rose and after telling me how much he loved me, knelt on one knee and said "All I want for my birthday is to spend the rest of my life with you... Jennifer, Will you Marry Me?"... AMAZING! I of course said yes, and there begins our journey...

A little story of a boy... the Groom...

Micheal Jordan Bisson was born on April 4, 1981 (also the day he proposed) at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin to Tina Bisson on her Birthday... what a present!! He was raised by his mother Tina and father Mark Bisson in Marshfield and attended Twinfield Union school from kindergarten until graduation. He has a wonderful sister Chandra and a brother Matthew who is his best friend and will pose as his Best Man on his special day. He also has a niece named Sierra, (almost two nieces named Sierra)!!! Micheal loved sports in school and attributes his "making it through" to playing sports throughout the years. He excelled in basketball and was on the state championship team his sophomore year in high school and did extremely well in baseball as a pitcher and shortstop. After high school Micheal moved out west to California for a year and ended up coming back to Vermont early in 2000. Micheal had a rough couple of years following his return to Vermont that have shaped him into the amazing man that he is today. He met Jennifer early in 2005, in the perfect time for him to meet someone new and they have been together ever since...

A little history of the Bride...

This is our story.... Miss Jennifer Lee Walbridge Ripley was born April 19, 1982 at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin. She was raised through the years by her mother Kathy and father Karl Walbridge in Montpelier, Moretown and Barre. Jennifer has a wonderful sister who is one of her bestfriends and will pose as her maid of honor during this amazing event and a great brother too who has struggled throughout the years but is starting to really find his place on this earth. She has also been blessed with two nephews and many great aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. She attended Union Elementary and Main Street Middle School, Moretown Elementary, Websterville Baptist Christian School and Spaulding High School. She enjoyed sports throughout school including basketball, softball and swimming. In her later years she enjoyed beauty pageants and continues to participate and help in pageants to this day as one of her biggest passions. After graduating highschool she attended UVM for two years and was president of her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. She then moved out west to Las Vegas Nevada for a couple of years. She returned to Vermont to begin the rest of her life, and literally the next day met Micheal so when she says she can back to start the rest of her life, she wasn't kidding. Her and Micheal have been together ever since. Although they are not going to say it has always been perfect, they can say it is PERFECT NOW and will be FOREVER!!
